Perak

Welcome to Perak

erak, located on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is a state of majestic mountains, colonial towns, and mysterious limestone caves. Its name, meaning “silver,” is thought to reference the gleam of tin—a metal that once brought immense wealth to the region during the British colonial era.

The capital, Ipoh, is an emerging tourism gem, known for its beautifully preserved heritage buildings, vibrant street art, and legendary food scene. Highlights include Concubine Lane, the Birch Memorial Clock Tower, and Kellie’s Castle

Nature seekers will be drawn to Cameron Highlands (shared with Pahang) and Bukit Larut, while adventure travelers can explore Gua Tempurung, one of the largest limestone cave systems in Peninsular Malaysia. The Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar, home to grand palaces and the stunning Ubudiah Mosque, showcases the state’s regal heritage.
